What are Your Intentions?

The first day of my work week is a great time to set an intention for the week. This could be aiming for a more relaxed approach, prioritizing athletic activity, or focusing on productivity within a specific project.

That doesn’t mean I abandon my regular responsibilities; instead, it’s about making small choices that align with my intention. For example, if my goal is to be more athletic this week, that does not mean I expect to qualify for the olympics by the end of the week. It means that whenever I have free time, I’ll ask myself if I can incorporate some physical activity.

I won’t expect major changes overnight. Instead, I focus on acknowledging the choices I make that align with my intention. Each step towards that intended action is a step away from distractions and moves me closer to my desired outcome.

If I’m able to take that next right step, I celebrate it! Noting and celebrating these small wins help me repeat the positive choices in the future.

ACTION: Take a moment at the start of your week to choose your intention for the next few days. Throughout the week, see if you can make small choices that move you closer to achieving your goal.
