I Can See Clearly Now

I recently acquired my first pair of glasses, which I currently only need for reading. It’s a new experience for me to remember that I need and have glasses. Adjusting to them involved developing the habit of keeping them nearby and wearing them when necessary.

I’m still not accustomed to them, often finding myself squinting at my screen before realizing that I can resolve this issue with my new glasses. It’s important for me to establish the habit of using them.

At times, I’m tempted to push through without them, since I can still read adequately if I strain my eyes. But, why endure unnecessary difficulty when I have a tool that can vastly improve my life and enhance my work efficiency?

The same principle applies to any tool. If I have access to something that fulfills my needs, why wouldn’t I utilize it? Why not employ tools to assist me in all aspects of my life, such as dictionaries and thesauruses, habit trackers, coaches and therapists, etc.

By consistently wearing my glasses when necessary, I am not only practicingutilizing tools but also embracing the act of seeking help and normalizing the use of tools without feeling any shame for needing them.

ACTION: If you feel stuck today, reach for a tool. This could mean calling a friend or mentor, seeking help from an expert or loved one, or taking a minute to research the resources you need for your next right step.
