Gimme More

I watched the documentary “Sick, Fat, and Nearly Dead,” which focused on health, nutrition, and the impact of the American diet on our well-being.

While I found the fasting and juicing methods a bit extreme, the documentary offered a valuable takeaway that has benefited me beyond just my eating habits. It emphasized the concept of not just eliminating the bad, but adding the good. This approach proved to be more feasible for me when making lifestyle changes.

Instead of completely cutting out sugars and desserts, I started incorporating more vegetables into my meals. Whenever I attempt to transform my body by completely eliminating certain food groups, I often feel deprived and desperate. I become too focused on achieving quick results, and as a result, I struggle to sustain my strict rules.

On the other hand, adding something I genuinely desire into my life provides a more gentle and sustainable way to meet my needs. By adding what I truly need, I naturally find that I have less room for things that I don’t need.
